In partnership with The Welding Institute and the City of London Livery Company, TWI are inviting applications for the 2019 Armourers and Brasiers’ Travel Awards.
The grant allows postgraduate students undertaking studies in materials joining and structural integrity to attend an international conference relevant to their research. Attendance of such conferences provide students with unique academic and industry networking experiences.
Successful applicants of a travel grant will be required to submit a report (minimum of 1000 words) or give a short presentation highlighting the learning outcomes gained from the activity for which they have utilised the award.
Application forms can be found on The Welding Institute website. Alongside your application, please supply an endorsement from your employer or academic supervisor, explaining how the grant will support your learning and development.

The City of London Livery Company
Dating back to 1322, The City of London Livery Company supports education and research into materials science and metallurgy through its annual award schemes. Through the Armourers and Brasiers’ Gauntlet Trust, the company is offering travel grants of £500 - £1000 to assist towards travel and subsistence.
