Congratulations to NSIRC PhD Student David Williams, who was awarded first place in a University of Surrey poster competition last month.

David’s poster was awarded first place by a judging panel consisting of the Micro and Nano Materials (MiNMaT) steering committee from the university of Surrey – a selection of senior academics and industrial members drawn from disciplines across the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.

He said: ‘For me it is always advantageous to learn about what other postgraduate students are researching or developing in their projects. I found the event to be very informative and was delighted to be awarded first place in the poster competition.’

David is working within TWI’s adhesives and composites section, his research titled ‘Use of plasma pre-treatment in adhesive bonding’.

We at NSIRC would like to acknowledge David’s hard work, and look forward to hearing about his future successes.
