NSIRC is delighted to welcome fellow researchers (PhD students) N'zebo Richard Anvo and Mahesh Dissanayake from London South Bank University. They have started their industry-led research programme sponsored by TWI focusing on robotic inspection technologies.

N'zebo Richard Anvo from Ivory Coast and Mahesh Dissanayake from Sri Lanka graduated this year from London South Bank University with first class honours in engineering, electrical and electronics.

N'zebo’s project is focused on developing a robotic technology for the in-service inspection of petrochemical storage tanks. The project has the potential to reduce inspection cost by more than 80%. The technology has further applications in other industries inspection of storage tanks. N'zebo is supervised by Prof Tariq Satter and Mr Ivan Pinson (TWI).

Mahesh Dissanayake aims to develop a lightweight robot for inspecting mooring chains in the offshore industry. The research will overcome the challenges of the device being operational both in air and sea. The research will also focus on efficient deployment and retrieval.  Mahesh is receiving guidance from Prof Tariq Sattar and Mr Ivan Pinson (TWI).

NSIRC would like to wish both students ‘all the best’ in their research.
